Raw logs

still working on figuring out a good way to strip them

[21:04] * Yukari_working is now known as GM
[21:05] <Maxwell> Uh, that account's registered.
[21:05] <GM> Hm. That's annoying.
[21:05] * GM is now known as G_M
[21:05] <G_M> I now feel ever so slightly silly, but eh~
[21:07] <Youmu_Konpaku> RemnantWings_GM ?
[21:07] * G_M is now known as Remnant_GM
[21:07] <Remnant_GM> Much better.
[21:07] <Maxwell> Hang on, looking up some stuff that may be useful.
[21:08] * Youmu_Konpaku is now known as Aileen
[21:08] <Aileen> Not registered, nice.
[21:08] <Remnant_GM> Three places, converging. Five people, of special destiny. Not 'quite' the day that would change this shattered world again, but it was close enough.
[21:08] <Aileen> (voices)
[21:09] <Remnant_GM> ....Argh
[21:09] * Remnant_GM is now known as Yukari
[21:09] <Maxwell> (http://darkmyst.org/?page=faq-chanmodes should be helpful here)
[21:09] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Yukari
[21:09] * Yukari is now known as Remnant_GM
[21:09] <Maxwell> (also /msg chanserv help flags and so on)
[21:10] <@Remnant_GM> (I should know about all these thing >_<
[21:10] <Maxwell> (And also http://darkmyst.org/?page=help-npc)
[21:11] <Maxwell> (Because for some reason you can't just do /npc blah blah blah, it has to be /npc :blah blah blah now. *shrug* Lousy coding.)
[21:14] <Maxwell> (and for general reference this should be useful for us http://darkmyst.org/?page=services-gameserv)
[21:14] <Maxwell> (Though Mima's got the dice roller so less of a big deal.)
[21:14] <Aiying> (I'm dice!)
[21:14] <Aileen> (Umm .. how do we handle OOC chat?)
[21:14] <Aiying> (They say my dice feasts on your tears, though. And #RW-OOC
[21:14] <Maxwell> (I think we're doing a good job of it right now but--okay?)
[21:15] <@Remnant_GM> (I think we could probably keep it in here, but who'd prefer a separate channel for OOC?)
[21:15] <+Sora_Kawaguchi> (Not a fan of separate channel personally)
[21:16] <Maxwell> (Depends on how noisy it gets in here?)
[21:18] <@Remnant_GM> The ship, then. From their journey from the Strip, to the outpost of the Wreck, and now to Firebrandt, the Mitigated Landing, a heavily modified freighter of all legal cargo had been travelling for several weeks, now. It had been a week and a half since they'd lost one of their crew to a rather nasty bloodwing attack, and just over a week since the crew had picked up a temporary traveller member in the form of Sora Kawaguchi, a hippogriff rider who'd been offered travel for helping guard the ship. Of course, stowed away on the ship too had been Aiying, a showgirl from the Wizard's Strip - or rather, had hijacked her way onto the ship through sort-of-legal kung fu. Not that the various guards, shotgunners and rifleers and assorted folk, nor the passengers - minded too much about.
[21:20] <@Remnant_GM> As for the captain, Captain Red (Redvhorshire to those who knew him better) - most stayed out of the surly man's way, though keeping away from the attendant spirit, Mitigation, was another matter.
[21:22] <@Remnant_GM> The sky has darkened; while there should only be a few hours until those on the ship reach their destination of Emberflash, one of the outlying tower-hamlets of the magical academy that made up Firebrandt, something in the air had put everyone's teeth on edge. And for the moment, Captain Red had called Sora up to the small bridge of the airship.
[21:23] <@Remnant_GM> (Aiying can tag along, if she wishes - she's grudgingly been given room to do whatever she wishes, short of throwing anything overboard)
[21:24] * +Sora_Kawaguchi had felt it would be best to help the crew, who had already lost a member, to make the rest of the travel safely. That it also provided her with an easier long distance travel was an extra reason to agree to those conditions. She would have helped anyway but she never quite mentioned that fact. With the feeling of menace of the air that was permeating now, she hurried to answer
[21:24] * +Sora_Kawaguchi the call, knocking at the man's door with a strong fist.
[21:29] <@Remnant_GM> The door swings open, allowing entry - Mitigation stood - or more precisely - hovered behind, the indistinct form of the ships' spirit - both it's drive and mind - gestruing Sora out of the rain on deck. The wind had started to pick up, not quite bad enough to not fly at all, but the visibility was poor, to say the least.
[21:30] * Aiying attached herself to Sora, really, at least when 'something interesting' came up. She popped up behind the shorter woman with a wave. "Sounded more fun then th'cabin!" She said brightly, even if she was soaked.
[21:31] <@Remnant_GM> (Oh - a couple of questions, too, for everyone: would you prefer to be referred to in the second person or third person, and present tense or past tense?)
[21:33] * +Sora_Kawaguchi gratefully walked in from the rain, "Thank you, may your winds ever be gAH-ah, hello Lady Aiying..." The woman was slightly maddening, popping in and out like a capricious summer breeze.
[21:36] <Maxwell> (Third person, and either tense works for me.)
[21:36] <+Sora_Kawaguchi> (I tend to favor third person past tense as if telling the story later on but anything is fine.)
[21:38] <@Remnant_GM> "Oh, there you are, girl- Thoth's teeth! At least wear some proper clothing if you're going out in the rain, ma'am!" Captain Red averts his eyes from the second soaked figure. "There's something out in the clouds, I can feel it. I don't want you going out quite yet, but prep your hippogriff, will you? That storm's not natural."
[21:38] <Aileen> (I third person works better for the log and because we are a group. ^-^)
[21:39] <@Remnant_GM> (All right, past tense, then! Third person.)
[21:40] * Aiying smiles. It's not bad when you've something to warm you up," she said, nimbly flipping a flask in the air before catching it - and taking a quick drink. "I have more clothing to change into when we're out of the rain, anyways," she said, skipping any mention of the word 'proper'.
[21:41] * +Sora_Kawaguchi nods, "Your crew are used to the ebbs and flows of these skies and I've noticed a current of unease. I think they all sense something is off as well, you have a good crew. I will be ready, you merely need to say the word and I shall take to the skies." She didn't leave yet, lingering to make sure the captain had nothing else to say or request. As for Aiying, the woman was tried
[21:41] * +Sora_Kawaguchi to ignore the casual alcohol abuse and improper clothing.
[21:44] <@Remnant_GM> The captain stared out at the billowing sails, filled with wind, towards the mushroom-shaped floating tower ahead. It was only a small hands-width across for the moment, barely visible in the gathering stormclouds. Though it appeared some folks had their minds on closer matters - Mitigation let out a chiming peal of laughter, her form obscuring most of Aiying's - most likely for modesty, no doubt. "Storm's coming. And- could you try not endangering all your limbs today, ma'am? I'd rather not have all of the Strip after me when I head back."
[21:45] * Aiying giggles. "THey'll just say I ran out of luck or something witty," she said, replacing the flask without taking another drink. "If I fell off the ship, it's my own fault."
[21:47] * +Sora_Kawaguchi nods, "I'll be ready to rescue you when that occurs, of course. Was there anything else, Captain?"
[21:49] <@Remnant_GM> "Just for the moment." The elf taps the wheel, testing the pull of the wind. "I don't like this one bit."
[21:49] <@Remnant_GM> And the ship continued.
[21:50] <@Remnant_GM> Emberflash, then; where diplomacy and distrust came hand in hand.
[21:51] * +Sora_Kawaguchi nods and goes to prepare her mount and equipment, getting in the saddle with her Nodachi held in one hand and supported by a stirup.
[21:55] * Aiying gives a grin and another silly wave before leaving - she doesn't need to get equipment, but she'll wait near Sora to keep her mount company before Sora returns, but mostly waiting to see if they go somewhere.
[21:56] <@Remnant_GM> Emberflash; The orientation of this miniature academy would confuse anyone - the sky was down and the ground was up. Gravity was up too, making actually leaving the town a tad difficult - but people seemed to manage. -Enough of that, though - "Ahoy, Maxwell!" A thin, wiry man called down from one of the upper (?) floors of the tower.
[21:56] <@Remnant_GM> "Can you hear the alarums? It sounds like quite a racket, don't you think?" Ansev Freichard, Maxwell's wingman and fellow griffin knight, calls out, waving from one of the windows.
[21:59] * Maxwell turns away from the window - from which he was observing the foreboding storm beside Carlana, his own gryphon - and up to Ansev. "Something's happened, then?" he calls back, "Are we to take flight, or have you not heard anything from Father Tomberry yet?"
[22:04] <@Remnant_GM> "Father Tomberry's called for us; I hear some of the guards are making a sortie to investigate something. Of course, us being their honoured guests, it would be most incorrect of us as griffin paladins to show them up. Not least since they're clearly of such high skill and training." Right on cue, a rushing person holding two helmets and a breastplate tripped, sending the items scattering into the air for a moment, slowly floating back to the "ground".
[22:07] * Maxwell takes a moment to turn towards the source of the subdued clattering, then returns his focus to Ansev and nods firmly. "Duly noted. I'll be right there," he says with a salute before walking over to the clumsy armsbearer and offering a hand to help them up, motioning Carlana to follow him on the way.
[22:12] <@Remnant_GM> The weather's not yet at the point of raining on the city of Emberflash; fortunately, most of the rain trickled away from the city, protected from the watery bombardment by the mushroom dome above it. So it is with moderate dryness that Carlana and Maxwell met near the military docks, where Ansev had lead the pair - wearing full armour, surprisingly. Or perhaps not. "That's odd. I distinctly remember Father Tonberry mentioning the military dock..." Sir Freichard shrugs, turning to stare at the five mages in a boat being lectured - instructed? -nearby.
[22:15] <Maxwell> "Perhaps he's still busy back in the main city?" suggests Maxwell, looking around. "Of course we don't want him unguarded in that case... More to the point though, where are the rear claws?"
[22:19] * AncientSpark (Mibbit@38-961-844-385.dhcp.stls.mo.charter.com) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
[22:21] <@Remnant_GM> "Possibly, possibly," the knight replied. "I believe they were with him. Though... there's an odd thing. They're arming the fire towers, but all they've got to go see what they think's the problem is a single skiff with a golem and some - clearly highly trained warrior-mages." One of the mages could be seen fidgeting from here. The instructor doesn't hold back on his voice - "And - listen, I don't want any lip out of you! One unnatural stormcloud, right behind a ship. Scrying isn't picking up anything, so it's up to you. Intercept it, see what the deaths is going on. You've got sending scrolls, report back as soon as you see. We don't want any accidents occuring, do we?"
[22:26] * Maxwell slowly nods. "Mm. That is somewhat concerning," he notes, rubbing his chin. "Well, so long as the Father's under guard and one of us keeps the docks open... Would you mind particularly if I went out to survey with them?"
[22:30] <@Remnant_GM> "Oh? Well, what us knights do on our break shouldn't be a problem, should it? In fact, I think I should take a break as well... what do you say, Ecks?" Ansev's griffin squarks, most likely in agreement. "Well, since that's settled-" "Hold, Sir Knights!" -That - that was Naime, coming in to land. "Didn't Father Tomberry tell you NOT to go down to the docks?" she said exasperatedly.
[22:33] * Maxwell stiffly salutes to Naime. "Apparently there was a miscommunication down the line," he admits with an aside glance to Ansev. "Our sincere apologies. However, for what reason were we to stay clear of the docks?"
[22:37] <@Remnant_GM> Naime Tomberry; a rear claw. Gryphon knights operate in fours, usually - two front claws and two rear claws, so as always to have someone back them up. She salutes back, glancing over with a long-suffering look to Ansev. "He officially didn't want you to go out, and would prefer you to have stayed in the tower guarding him. He's a bit worried about all the guards on edg-" "So, unofficially, it's all right, then?" Ansev leans forward, curious. "That's not what he said-" "We're off duty, and it's every griffin Knight's responsibility to keep their griffons exercised. We should be responsible, isn't that right, Maxwell?"
[22:41] * Maxwell casts another aside glance to Ansev without a word before clearing his throat. "To be perfectly honest, whatever has the city nervous has been making me nervous too. Guarding Father Tomberry is important, but I'd like to see what the city - and by extension we - are looking at. You go ahead and return to the Father, and I'll report back shortly." He fires off another salute, then strides towards the boat, addressing the instructor. "Ahoy.
[22:44] <@Remnant_GM> "But-" From behind Maxwell he could hear her still. "He said if the town falls you could best protect the citizens by being here-" "Don't worry, Naime! That's what you're here for! You and Sir Maledict! You'll do fantastically, I'm sure."
[22:44] <@Remnant_GM> The instructor turns - "Can't you see we're in- oh, Sir Knight, what brings you out here?"
[22:48] <Maxwell> "If the city's in danger, I'll be riding ahead of the storm to aid!" Maxwell calls back briefly before returning to the instructor. "The situation has us on alert as well, so I'd like to join in the reconnaissance efforts for everyone's sake. Plus, it's probably better to have something more nimble than a ship surveying the inside of the storm, don't you think?"
[22:52] <@Remnant_GM> "Well... we're not exactly the best equipped to scout out, I'm afraid. Are you sure your gryphons will be all right? I think these numbskulls would be glad to have help, but only if you're all right with that. Sir." The instructor looked vaguely familiar - was he one of those at one of the refectory meals? "We'd welcome both of you to help out - we've got an incoming ship, and think it might be dragging the storm along with it."
[22:55] <Maxwell> "All the better to support, then. And don't worry, the Gryphon Knights are trained for aerial combat in the worst of situations. Carlana, come!" Maxwell calls to his gryphon as he comes aboard. "Naime, Ansev, I entrust Father Tomberry to you!"
[22:57] * AncientSpark (Mibbit@38-961-844-385.dhcp.stls.mo.charter.com) has joined #RemnantWings
[22:57] <AncientSpark> Okay, enough moving, time to spy for real~
[22:57] <AncientSpark> Wait, I don't know game IP and password `-`
[22:58] <AncientSpark> That's awkward
[22:58] <Maxwell> (We're playing in here for now, actually.)
[22:58] <AncientSpark> (Ah, I see, my bad)
[22:58] <@Remnant_GM> "Sure you don't want me to c- well, I'm sure you'll be fine!" Ansev waves, shrugging. "Make sure you've got his back, you hear? I want him back in one piece!" Some of the mages wave back as the skiff sets off - it's a fairly small ship, barely seating all six of them and the griffin. "Hello, Sir! What's your name? Are you Maxwell, or that other bloke?"
[23:00] <Maxwell> "I am indeed Sir Maxwell Kharvast of the Gryphon Knights, at your service." he answers with a smile before patting his gryphon's side. "And this is Carlana. Apologies for the tight fit, but we'll give you some breathing room once we've closed in on the storm."
[23:03] <@Remnant_GM> "That's all right, Sir. We're the finest full elemental squad of EmberFlash, no worries there! Er, she won't bite, will she?" Five men and women, mostly grinning, as well as one brown golem, unsmiling. "Just call us Squad 1. Earth - fire - air - metal - water, that's us! You' know what we're after, right?"
[23:07] <Maxwell> "I hadn't heard all the details, actually. I'm just assuming it was whatever shouldn't belong in a storm. If there's another ship out there, it'd probably be best to ascertain their safety as well." He pauses, then adds, "No, she won't bite unless you annoy her."
[23:10] <@Remnant_GM> "Ah, that's good... I guess. Well, we don't know what we're after either - if the ship comes up clean, we're going to see if we can't dispel the storm a bit with some scrolls - it shouldn't affect the city, but then again, best not to take chances, eh?" He grins at the others as the skiff picks up speed, heading at a fairly brisk pace into the darkened sky. "So! Care to tell us of some of your exploits, sir Knight?" This may be a long hour...
[23:10] <@Remnant_GM> Back, back to the boat at last.
[23:14] <@Remnant_GM> The ship stayed just abreast of the storm, fortunately - tension had started to die down as their destination grew closer. "I think I see something up ahead?" A cry from the watchman. Want to take a look, Aiying, Sora? Perception checks.
[23:15] <+Sora_Kawaguchi> `roll 1d20+3
[23:15] <+Sora_Kawaguchi> 1d20+3
[23:15] <Aiying> Sora_Kawaguchi rolled 1 20-sided dice. <10 17 > Total: 17 (20).
[23:18] <Aiying> `roll #RemnantWings 1d20+9
[23:18] <Maxwell> (Just roll your own dice :P)
[23:21] <@Remnant_GM> There! Difficult to make out amongst the rain and the clouds, but the outline of a skiff can be seen, a flying creature nearby. "Looks like a welcoming party, sir?"
[23:22] <@Remnant_GM> "All right, then!" Red cries out. "They're probably friendly, but just in case - Sora, get ready to take off, will you?"
[23:26] * Aiying raises her hand. "I'll catch ya if you fall off," Aiying says with a grin, not suggesting she join her. A mount was something special. "Or 'im<' she said, pointing at the welcoming party.
[23:27] * +Sora_Kawaguchi gets ready to take off
[23:31] <@Remnant_GM> Near the skiff, on the other side of the viewpoint, Maxwell could see the vessel as it grew closer. It was unfortunate that this point was outlined as a flash of lightning crashes into the skiff, striking it amidships.
[23:33] * Maxwell squints to make out any details of the ship, thankfuly for a brief moment that they don't appear to be taking arms either to them or the storm behind them, but he quickly whips his head around as the lightning strikes, cursing and pulling back alongside the skiff. "Are you alright!? Can you still fly?!"
[23:34] <Maxwell> *-y
[23:36] <@Remnant_GM> The skiff slows as it starts smoking; one of the mages conjuring up further water to flood the fire out. "I think- Look ou-" The second bolt blows a hole clear through the barge, glittering feathers scattering on the winds as dust in a storm. The boat drops away, the golem with it - most of the crew only falling about 20, 30 feet before they trigger their own feathers, starting to be blown in all directions. "Use your Fly spells!"
[23:38] <@Remnant_GM> On the ship, the captain swears as lightning hits twice, the crew scattering. "Thoth's blood, if they don't have some way of moving around they're going to get scattered all over the place. Sora! See if you can't get them on board before they go too far!"
[23:39] * Aiying dashes out to the deck! "Don't worry 'bout lfying them down, just toss them over in my direction and trust to my luck!" She certainly made it out onto the deck in a hurry, and seems sure-footed in the rain.
[23:40] * Maxwell cringes and swoops down after the plummeting skiff to see if the golem can be recovered, reaching one hand into his pouch for feathers and keeping an eye on the mages in case any of them are in trouble.
[23:48] * +Sora_Kawaguchi does whatever is appropriate.
[23:50] <@Remnant_GM> "Woah- woah!" It looks like three of the five mages managed to cast properly; the other two didn't, starting to drift off course. One of the properly flying ones catches one; the other's being blown off course a bit too fast, or possibly the others haven't noticed him yet.
[23:53] <@Remnant_GM> "Help!" It's just about enough of a yell for the gryphon Maxwell rode to yank her head sideways, pointing him towards the tumbling mage.
[23:55] * +Sora_Kawaguchi goes to help the distressed mage indeed.
[23:55] * Maxwell looks up as Carlana does in surprise - and quickly throws a small handful of feathers in the golem's direction hoping it'll know what to do with them before he pulls back on the reins. "Up, Carlana, u--" he starts before the sight of Sora and her hippogriff moving to intercept enters his vision. "--Ah..."
[23:58] <@Remnant_GM> More lightning strikes flash down. It's too much to be normal - flash, flash, flash. The ship is struck, now; four, five, six times. A stray bolt hits a crew member as fires are put out; another strikes the pair of mages, who cry out. "We're under attack!" Someone cries.
Session Time: Sun Oct 28 00:00:00 2012
[00:00] <@Remnant_GM> There's a surprised "oof!" as the adrift mage lands on Sora's saddle, tangling her reins momentarily; but the moment passes as she recovers. "What- who are you- no, wait, that's not natural lightning!"
[00:01] * +Sora_Kawaguchi looks around but, presumably, doesn't see anything, "I suspected as much but where could it be comming from?"
[00:03] <@Remnant_GM> Carlana turns again, screeching a call of defiance. She speeds upwards, an unseen target in her sights.
[00:04] * Maxwell covers his eyes as lightning streaks through the air all around him, hearing the cries from the struck mages and holding tight on the reins as Carlana shoots upward. He looks to the mages he's passing between, and quickly puts a hand to his pauldron with a faint glow, ending with a flash of warm energy outward into the group before speeding past. [Channel positive energy 3d6, burst executed within range of mages]
[00:05] <@Remnant_GM> "Aiying, help get the wounded inside! We're still being pounded out here!" The mages get on board after the healing burst; a few more desultory shots of lightning hit them, but they have the presence of mind to cast some energy resistance; still, they look pretty bashed up.
[00:06] <Aiying> "Not a problem, you know," Aiying called out with a laugh; mages who are wounded would simply be picked up over her shoulder (But allowed to pretend to be teetering along themselves. You know, if they had a personal pride problem), and she started bringing them inside as she watched for any more errant lightning strikes.
[00:09] * +Sora_Kawaguchi flies towards the ship, examining the mage riding with her for wounds.
[00:10] * Maxwell squints to see what it is in the stormclouds that Carlana's become so hostile toward, drawing his lance and letting the pennant flap wildly in the wind as a precaution
[00:12] <@Remnant_GM> "I'm fine, I'm fine, just drop me off!" The mage points upwards, squinting, casting something. "There's - birds? In this weather? He gestures again, balls magic scorching upwards. They zoom past - striking home one after another into a pair of small birds. Eagles, in a storm. They cry out, but do not fall.
[00:14] <@Remnant_GM> "The birds! The birds are the casters!" Sora heard that from the mage, as he jumps down onto the ship. Maxwell's already heading towards them at speed, however, as now the two flying attackers become clear to see once pointed out.
[00:16] * +Sora_Kawaguchi drops the mage on the ship, "I'll heal you later sir, sorry. The... birds seem a more immediate concern." Now that she could see them, she spurred her mount towards the nearest one at best speed, aiming to impale it with her polearm.
[00:17] <Maxwell> "Birds?" Maxwell blinks in confusion. However, Carlana was so quick to go into a frenzy over them, and he has no reason not to trust her, so he tightens his grip on his lance and focuses, trying to sense if a malign aura from the out-of-place creatures. [Detect evil]
[00:30] <@Remnant_GM> Sora shoots past Maxwell; alas, amidst the storm it's too difficult to pick them out quite so easily; the first bird squarks, flinching back along its flight path; it shimmers, and its claws burst alight with flames.
[00:36] <@Remnant_GM> The second bird cries out; it's wing twisted back; nearly torn off, as Maxwell's lance slashes past; Carlana not stopping as she whirls back on herself. Yet no malign presence announces itself even as it cuts past; even as the *other* bird cries out, almost as if in shock.
[00:38] <Maxwell> "What... nothing?" Maxwell murmurs in shock, letting his lance drift to the wayside before shifting one hand back to the reins and tugging firmly. "Stop! Carlana, stop!"
[00:39] <@Remnant_GM> It's about then that both riders and animals note the wind locally has picked up strongly; as if a localised tornado had caught the two of them. And the air itself seems to catch fire, as gouts of flame shoot from that self same tornado at both riders and mounts.
[00:45] <@Remnant_GM> Both riders are mostly safe from the flame; the wind seems to laugh at them, the spinning form heading meancingly towards both.
[00:47] * +Sora_Kawaguchi mutters an incantation in her native language, gesturing towards the spinning form, sending a bolt of radiant light at it.
[00:48] * Aiying starts moving on the ship; for wherever is beneath the birds, watching upwards closely.
[00:50] <@Remnant_GM> The air elemental - for that is what it is, or at least, has assumed the form of - roars as the bolts strike it dead on, piercing through it, disrupting the spinning fires. It seems to be fairly injured from that single stroke.
[00:51] <@Remnant_GM> The first eagle, still in a dive, sends fire splashing across the deck; yet this time Mitigation intercepts the damage, the fire splashing harmlessly about the spirit form. And then a gunshot rings out; the bird spirals downwards to land in front of Aiying - only to twist and warp into the shape of a lion before her.
[00:54] <@Remnant_GM> As it staggers to its feet, a single shuriken lodged in its chest bleeds freely, only to get punched in the face by a cheerful girl.
[00:55] * Aiying was trying to get back her flask which she had (accidentally) tossed in the air too! She just happened to stumble on the wet ground at the last moment, and her first knocked it into the face, and so did the girl, although the girl rebounded back off of it a moment later. "My flask!"
[00:55] <Maxwell> "Damnit, something's not right, here..." Maxwell mutters, reaching down from the reins to place a hand filled with warm healing energy upon Carlana's back while eyeing the other bird carefully. [Lay on hands 3d6]
[00:58] <@Remnant_GM> Once again, the gouts of fire shoot out; the winds buffeting Sora while the fire hits Maxwell.
[01:03] <@Remnant_GM> The elemental - somehow clumsy in its movements, sweeps past Sora as she maneuvers the hippogriff round the lunge; Maxwell is not so lucky - the blast hits him dead on. Yet his hold on the reins keep him steady in his seat.
[01:09] * Aiying drops her flask again - and winds up grappling with the lion with it. Or something. When he tries to block her hands, it's the flask; when he sees the flask and ignores the feint, the hand streaks out from behind it and nails him in tehs nout.
[01:13] <@Remnant_GM> The lion stares, groggy headed; it growls angrily, staggering back; trying to stay up. And then it breathes fire at Aiying; belching up a fireball across the showgirl.

[01:15] <Aiying> Remnant_GM rolled 1 6-sided dice. <10 1 > Total: 1 (6).
[01:17] <@Remnant_GM> It's fortunate that the bottle that is bouncing around doesn't ignite, though the deck lights up once again. The mages are still struggling to get around to a clear shot; clearly a showgirl beating up a burning tiger is not as much fun to stop by firing upon. The flames still singe quite nastily, however.
[01:21] * +Sora_Kawaguchi exploits her mount's agility to turn and attack the off balance elemental with a fierce charge.
[01:39] <@Remnant_GM> Mid roar, the elemental's scream cuts out - the fire dies, the wispy body losing its spin, its coherency dissipating as the burning light from the charge sears across it once more - not quite dead, yet burnt enough to be knocked out - the winds carry it away, vanished as if into the air itself.
[01:45] <@Remnant_GM> And- at that moment, someone falls asleep. And from below the Mitigated Landing, the storm breaks - a shadowy form - long - long - vast - large enough to swallow up all of Emberflash in one gulp - sinuous trail snaking through the clouds - it emerges. A great white wyrm. A city eater wyrm, legless, mouth and tail and wings of steam, headed straight towards Emberflash.
[01:46] <Maxwell> Maxwell grunts in pain as the wave of heat hammers him in the chest, his chestplate smoking from the blast. "Damnit, Maxwell, focus! Eyes forward!" he growls before surveying Sora's attack against the hostile elemental force, and then... so very much more. "...Oh my god..." He quickly brings Carlana down onto the ship's deck, between the lion and Aiying. "Stop this right now! There is a misunderstanding going on and we've got much more to worry
[01:46] <Maxwell> about!" he shouts, pointing towards the wyrm. [Move action made, pending for response]
[01:50] * Aiying stops, now having (secured) her flask. "Well, I've got my flask back..." she says, tipping back to take a shot as she waits. [Swift Action: Drink! +6 Temp HP, +Drunken Ki Point]
[01:51] <Aiying> "No hard feelings, right, kitty?"
[01:52] <@Remnant_GM> The lion's response is to rake across Maxwell's back with a clawful of flame, spitting defiance and teeth at the knight. Below it lies the other bird, shot through the neck, limp on the deck.
[01:54] * Aiying shifts forward, her weight moving forward as her arm cocks back. "Bad kitty!" She calls out, looking like she's just going to give it a nice, firm, frost-augmented slap.
[01:54] * Maxwell winces and takes the brunt of the blast, quickly hopping off Carlana and motioning her away with one arm while holding his other in front of Aiying. "No. This is my fault. I should bear responsibility."
[01:55] * Aiying pauses. "Well, I can forgive a little fire; but, y'know, you look in pretty bad shape. Sure you want to turn down n'ally?"
[01:59] * +Sora_Kawaguchi growls, "Striking someone trying to arrange peace from the back? Whatever you are, you need to cool down slightly I believe!"
[01:00] * +Sora_Kawaguchi as she admonishes, she waves with her free hand as if punishing the lion with a smack that seems to just keep going invisibly to strike towards the lion HARD.
[01:03] <@Remnant_GM> As the lion bends down to seize the dead bird - the wave slaps into it and it staggers sideways before falling over with a thud that rumbles across the deck.
[01:05] * Maxwell stands deathly still for a moment, then heaves a heavy sigh and presses his own hand to his chest, delivering a flow of healing energy. "Alright, who's the captain here?" [Lay on hands @ self]
[01:05] * Aiying waves up to Sora. "Yeah, thanks~" she calls out. Before shifting to look at the wyrm. "And, y'know, just saying...that thing over there looks a little big," she says, pointing at the wyrm. "Oh, Red. Reeeeeeeeeeed!"
[01:10] <@Remnant_GM> "I can see it! You don't have to- what'n hell's that noise?" The mouth of the giant wyrm is starting to glow, a bright bright white. Even as Sora gathers the injured crew round her, healing them up, it's plainly visible on board the ship.
[01:15] <Maxwell> "What the...? Oh sweet--HIT THE DECK!" Maxwell shouts before grabbing Carlana by the reins and diving down against the scorched floors of the ship in case of any aftershocks.
[01:15] <@Remnant_GM> The ship tilts upwards abruptly, turning in the air like a lumbering whale. "Climb, you disaster! Stay away from the bow! Don't look!" Red barks out orders as he pulls back sharply on the controls.
[01:20] * Sora_Kawaguchi is now known as Shou_Toramaru
[01:20] * Aiying sways, crouching and going to a knee on the deck, but doesn't look. Well, it's probably a gaze attack of some kind, she figures.
[01:25] <@Remnant_GM> There's a brief pause as the light dims. And then the skies alight with a pure brilliant glow, for a single moment.
