Archive of the Remnant Wings

Archive of the Remnant Wings is a wiki project, to collate logs and other notes from the concluded Pathfinder RPG campaign Remnant Wings. Taking place in a homebrew setting on the world of Erlt, this campaign detailed the history of the world's destruction and the drastic measures made to bring civilisation back from the brink, as well as the lives and struggles of those who live on the landmasses floating above a surface scarred by wild magic and in constant mutation. The campaign spanned two acts and several arcs over the course of three and a half years, resulting in a large investment by the players into the setting, story and character development. The Game Master was Lily Fae, and the players were AncientSpark, FuzzyPickles, Marina, Temia, Tilderabbit, Youmu and for a short time Glalev.

While not officially part of the Bearscape Network, the wiki was offered as a project host for the sake of allowing the players to freely participate in the collating, proofreading and editing process, as well as contribute any logs that the Game Master may have lacked.

Overview[edit]

There was a war.

A war between wizards, that destroyed the world.

-Well, that was not entirely true. Or at all true, in fact. Far more than just wizards participated in the wars, many of them not even spellcasters. There was not just one single war, but a series of ongoing feuds that escalated into multiple conflicts. And the world was most definitely not destroyed, just changed vastly.

But to simplify matters, there was a war between wizards that destroyed the world.

There is no time to expound on that war - not on the Flensed Gate, not on the Artificer and his tokens, not the place to mention Kastileen and Erithion's love and their Revocation of the Code, and each and every one of the Thousand who followed them. Not now should the tales of the Blossoming of the Dead nor the Shattering of Faith be mentioned except in passing, nor the five transvalent spells that ended that era.

What then, to say? That the world has become primal, awash with magics? With giant wild beasts and creatures and monstrosities that roam the lands? That with the powers of the Remnant Wings those that lived lashed together what they could, to fly their way in their homes and towns and cities above such terrors, where now centuries have passed and most of the world stays aloft in their flying city-states, with only the brave and greedy looting or even farming the lands below?

For that, my friends, is the true story.

Your story.
