Brought to Golarion many ages ago during the events of Earthfall, reyvateils are a strange and new power. While they can't channel magic quite as powerfully as conventional spellcasters, they can infuse what magic they do cast with song, powered by ancient machinations of a tower that lays deep beneath the earth. Strictly speaking, a person does not become a reyvateil by training; they are either explicitly built (see Pure-blooded Reyvateil) or born with the potential -- a half-blooded or "third generation" reyvateil.
For the latter, a pure-blooded reyvateil must be present in her family history, so that their genes pass on to her. These genes remain dormant until maturity, where they have a small chance of activating, putting the prospective reyvateil into a coma lasting about a week and manifesting the tattoo-like pattern of an installer port somewhere on her body. Upon waking, she finds that she has gained an innate understanding of Hymmnos and the potential for Song Magic.
This is not without its problems. Half-blooded reyvateils are a fluke, an unusual phenomenon where their awakened genes create an erroneous registration within a tower's SH server, and their bodies are not fully suited to handling Song Magic. Depending on the reyvateil's heritage and connected tower, she must deal with Tattoolist Disease or even risk getting IPD Disease, each requiring their own particular treatments. Please consult with your GM on how to handle this in your game.
This prestige class has been written for the Pathfinder RPG system for use in Cutefinder.

Class Features
The following are class features of the Reyvateil prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Reyvateils gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.
Spells Per Day/Spells Known: When a new reyvateil level is gained, the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in a spellcasting class she belonged to before adding the prestige class. She does not, however, gain other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for additional spells per day, spells known (if she is a spontaneous spellcaster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting. If a character had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a reyvateil, she must decide to which class she adds the new level for purposes of determining spells per day.
Tower: At 1st level, a reyvateil is linked to a specific tower that provides her Song Magic. If she is out of range of the tower, or if any of its core components such as the SH Server are disabled or destroyed, she will lose access to all class features (including Primal Word and Tower Connection, but not spells per day and metamagic feats).
A divine spellcaster looking into the Reyvateil prestige class can choose the tower she's linked to as a source of her power at character creation. This grants relative freedom from religious tenets, but where applicable, she will not gain a favoured weapon proficiency, her domain selections are bound to her emotional predilection and every spell she casts will have a verbal component (singing, reciting or music) like a bard. Additionally, she gains the Reyvateil creature subtype and her class features are bound to the availability of the tower. Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed.
Song Magic (Su): A reyvateil can learn Masterpieces as a bard, even if her Bardic Performance is from a different class. Likewise, she can conjure music alongside her singing when using Masterpieces or bardic performances, allowing her to make a supplemental Perform check as a free action with a bonus of her Cha modifier + Perform (sing) ranks for any audible component without requiring that instrument. This enables her to take Masterpieces she does not formally have relevant skill prerequisites for, if the prerequisite is for an audible performance type and her Perform (sing) skill is high enough.
A reyvateil must sing in Hymmnos for her performances or masterpieces to benefit from Song Magic, thus limiting the usage of language-dependent abilities or spells. Reyvateil levels count towards her base class levels for advancing the Bardic Performance class feature.
Symphonic Infusion (Su): A reyvateil can improve a spell with energy from the tower. When casting a spell, she can postpone releasing it and sing to imbue it with song magic; for each full round she sings, she can can increase its save DC (to a maximum of half her Reyvateil level, rounded up) or caster level (to an adjusted total of her character level) by 1. She must still concentrate during this time, which can leave her open to attack and risk losing the spell.
Primal Word (Su): As the most basic form of a reyvateil's magic, she learns, as either a bonus spell known or as a spell she can prepare from memory, a variant of Fireball that deals 1d4/level force damage (max 10d4) as a 3rd level spell.
Masterpiece: At 2nd level and every four levels after, a reyvateil gains a bonus Masterpiece without expending a feat or spell slot. She must meet the prerequisites for this Masterpiece in accordance with Song Magic.
Metamusic (Su): At 3rd level, a reyvateil can select a spell she can cast and begin a performance to spontaneously alter it with any metamagic feat she knows without changing its spell level, to a maximum effective level as she can cast. She must maintain this performance for at least as many rounds as the spell's modified level, and at the end of the performance must cast the spell (though she can use Symphonic Infusion as usual) or lose the benefit of the performance. When casting, she must make a Perform (sing) check against a DC of 10 + any damage she took during the performance + the spell's modified level; failing means the spell is lost as if it had been cast.
Bonus Metamagic Feat: At 4th and 8th level, a reyvateil gains a bonus Metamagic feat. She must meet the prerequisites for this feat.
Harmonic Display (Sp/Su): At 5th level, a reyvateil's Song Magic can create vivid phantasmal displays, evoking almost physical imagery with her music alone. She can use Silent Image at will as a spell-like ability, and she can maintain it as a free action during a performance, allowing her to make a supplemental Perform check as a free action with a bonus of her Cha modifier + Perform (sing) ranks for a visual component. This effectively allows her to take any Masterpiece that her Perform (sing) skill is high enough for.
A pure-blooded reyvateil who already has Harmonic Display instead gains a +3 bonus to perform checks made with Song Magic and Harmonic Display.
Harmonic Linguist (Su): At 7th level, a reyvateil's innate understanding of auditory frequencies and her own emotions allows her to convey the meaning of words across any language barrier. She can speak to anyone as if they shared a common language (though she does not necessarily understand the replies) and her language-dependent abilities or spells can affect any target with an Int score.
Greater Metamusic (Su): At 9th level, a reyvateil can use metamusic to achiever yet greater songs, no longer bound by normal limitations. When performing to spontaneously apply metamagic to a spell, she is no longer bound by her maximum spell level, but if she exceeds it, the spell's modified level is added twice to the Perform check DC instead of once.
Additionally, she can choose to begin using Symphonic Infusion during the performance rather than at the end, with the limitation that she must keep using it until the performance is concluded -- if something prevents her from using Symphonic Infusion, the performance and spell are both lost.
Tower Connection (Su): At 10th level, a reyvateil is capable of calling upon the tower's energy to smite her foes directly. She learns, as either a bonus spell known or a spell she can prepare from memory, a variant of Flame Strike that deals pure holy (or unholy) damage in a 10 ft. radius, 1 mile high cylinder as a 6th level spell. Additionally, she can cast down additional strikes by preparing it as a higher level spell or increasing its effective spell level with Metamusic, adding another cylinder at a point she chooses in range for every spell level above 6th (to a maximum of four strikes at 9th level), though the Save DC remains as that of a 6th level spell. Per Meteor Swarm, if the cylinders overlap a target, they must save separately for each one.
New Feat
Alongside the Reyvateil class comes a feat to better make use of its abilities.
Synchronity Chain (teamwork)
Prerequisites: Bardic Performance, Reyvateil subtype, Perform (Sing) 7 ranks
Benefits: If you are standing adjacent to someone with this feat and they start a Bardic Performance, a Bardic Masterpiece, Symphonic Infusion or Metamusic, you can choose to sing together.
- When used with Symphonic Infusion, you both concentrate as a full-round action, and the limits on increased caster level and save DC are raised, to the maximum of whoever's is higher + 2. (For those without levels in the Reyvateil prestige class, your improved caster level and save DC limits are effectively 0)
- When used with Bardic Performances or Masterpieces that have an activation time exceeding one round (including Metamusic), you both use rounds of your performance abilities and split the duration between you.
- When used with Metamusic in particular, you can both also apply your metamagic feats and the maximum spell level is whoever's is higher + 2.
- When used with ongoing Bardic Performances or Masterpieces, you both use rounds of your Performance abilities, and bonuses or save DCs are based on whoever's is higher + 2.
When Synchronicity Chain is used, both performers must make any relevant Concentration or Perform checks together, and the lower of the two is used. If one performer stops singing or moves away from the other, the other must as well.
